LumenRadio today announce the release of Remote Diagnostics for W-BACnet and W-Modbus, available through firmware version 4.3.0.

The new capability gives system integrators, facility operators, and building automation professionals a powerful new way to monitor wireless network health directly from the systems they already use every day. By bringing wireless network visibility into existing BMS, BAS, SCADA, and monitoring platforms, Remote Diagnostics helps teams identify issues earlier, troubleshoot faster, and move from reactive problem-solving to proactive network management.

Until now, wireless network diagnostics were primarily available through local access to a gateway. Remote Diagnostics changes that by making wireless infrastructure visible alongside controllers, sensors, actuators, and other building systems.

For the first time, wireless becomes a measurable part of the building automation workflow.

Moving Beyond Reactive Troubleshooting

As wireless technologies continue to play a growing role in building automation, visibility into network performance becomes increasingly important.

While controllers and equipment are typically monitored around the clock, the communication network itself often remains largely invisible until something goes wrong. When communication issues occur, troubleshooting frequently begins only after system performance has already been affected.

Remote Diagnostics addresses this challenge by exposing wireless network health directly within existing supervisory systems. Operators can monitor network performance remotely, create alarms and dashboards, track long-term trends, and detect developing issues before they impact day-to-day operations.

Built for Existing Building Control Workflows

Remote Diagnostics integrates directly with the systems already used to supervise and maintain buildings and industrial installations.

For W-BACnet deployments, diagnostics are available through standard BACnet objects. For W-Modbus deployments, diagnostics are exposed through dedicated Modbus registers. This allows wireless network health to be monitored alongside the rest of the installation without additional software, subscriptions, or hardware.

The result is a more complete operational view, where the wireless infrastructure can be managed using the same tools and workflows already used for the rest of the system.

Part of a Major Firmware Upgrade

Remote Diagnostics is part of the broader firmware 4.3.0 release, which also introduces significant improvements to wireless network performance and efficiency.

In addition to making wireless networks more visible than ever before, firmware 4.3.0 delivers the highest data throughput available on the platform to date, together with further improvements to network reliability and stability.

The result is a platform that not only provides greater operational insight, but also delivers more efficient communication performance without compromise.

The update also expands W-Modbus Solar Mode with support for proprietary Modbus frames, enabling compatibility with a wider range of solar inverter implementations.

Remote Diagnostics is available today as a free firmware update for supported W-BACnet and W-Modbus products. Existing device communication remains unchanged, allowing users to add advanced monitoring capabilities without modifying field devices, addressing schemes, or existing integrations.
