ProEdge integrates MiraMesh for enhanced smart latch connectivity

PTI Security Systems is a leading company in the access control and smart storage industry. Their latest innovation is the ProEdge Smart Latch – a next-generation lock for rented storage units which provides keyless access to customers via an app.

PTI chose to integrate LumenRadio’s wireless mesh technology, MiraMesh, into the ProEdge to ensure faultless network communication.

Using a meshing technology offers several advantages:

  • The network is self-healing which minimizes downtime
  • It extends the range of a facility’s network
  • The network is self-configuring making it incredible flexible and simple to deploy

But where other wireless mesh networks are sensitive to interference – and therefore vulnerable to dropouts of data – LumenRadio’s MiraMesh uses a patented technology which allows it to operate without causing interference or being interfered with. With its smart adaptive frequency hopping, it always finds the optimal frequency to communicate on. The result is wireless mesh with next-level reliability and superior range.

Once the ProEdge is commissioned and connected to the robust MiraMesh network, operators gain instant access to individual units, including the data associated with each ProEdge smart latch as well as overarching control.

“We selected LumenRadio and their Mira low energy module because of its advanced capabilities and features that perfectly align with PTI’s needs for reliability, scalability, precision, and energy efficiency in a networked environment,” says Charlie Haagendrup, Senior Mechanical Engineer who worked on the ProEdge project for ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions.

“With an average current consumption of just 16μA in routing (meshing) mode and as low as 7μA in non-routing (leaf) mode, it significantly extends device battery life without compromising network performance.”
