SKF improves rotating equipment performance with wireless technology
SKF has developed a new condition monitoring system for improving rotating equipment performance programs on a scale previously considered hard to accomplish with older wireless technology. The “SKF Enlight Collect IMx-1” combines SKF’s knowledge in machine health monitoring with LumenRadio’s patented wireless technology.
Since SKF’s products are often used in extremely demanding industrial environments, they needed to find a wireless technology that could offer the highest reliability together with the lowest power consumption on the market. By partnering up with LumenRadio and using our MiraOS technology for ultra-reliable wireless communication SKF got several benefits.
The wireless mesh technology in MiraOS enables SKF’s sensors to exchange data, navigating around obstacles, such as pipework and liquid storage tanks, instead of trying to punch through them. MiraOS patented cognitive co-existence technique scans the radio spectrum and switches frequencies to avoid ‘busy’ channels and overcome interference.
All this means increased radio reliability and less retransmissions – significantly reducing the power consumption of the battery in a small device.
MAJOR BENEFITS OF MIRAOS IN IMX-1
ACCURATE VIBRATION SENSING RUNNING ON BATTERY
SCALABLE, FUTURE-PROOF AND POSSIBLE FOR RETRO-FIT INSTALLATIONS
EASY INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING
ENABLES MEASUREMENT IN DEMANDING ENVIRONMENTS
