Lighting Oirschot’s industrial heritage with wireless DMX

Using wireless lighting control was the perfect way to illuminate this local landmark from a historical market town in the south of the Netherlands.

Oirschot is a heritage town steeped in history with more than 320 monument buildings. One of its iconic features is a tall, brick chimney belonging to an old furniture factory, where chairs and other items were made for many years. The chimney is one of the visible remnants of the town’s industrial past.

The town wanted to illuminate this characteristic construction in an atmospheric way, so that the chimney would also attract the attention it deserved after sundown. Since the historic infrastructure made wired control difficult to implement, a reliable wireless solution was sought after.

Wireless DMX with LRS SmartConnect

LRS Solutions supplied a fully wireless DMX system for the chimney’s RGBWW lighting using its SmartConnect Outdoor system. SmartConnect combines LumenRadio’s technology for wireless control of both DMX and DALI lighting together with the Pharos Expert Controller.

In this instance, LumenRadio’s wireless DMX provided a stable connection with a long range, ideal for such a location where control cabling could not be installed.
