Bridgestone chooses wireless innovation for sustainable climate control
At its Modugno facility in Italy, global tire leader Bridgestone faced a significant challenge: maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures during the region’s increasingly hot summers, while also ensuring operational efficiency and sustainability.
With internal heat generated by tire production processes and outdoor temperatures reaching 45°C, traditional HVAC systems proved inadequate – both in terms of performance and energy consumption.
To address this, Bridgestone partnered with Cleverclima, a specialist in advanced climate solution, who chose an innovative solution using LumenRadio’s W-Modbus wireless communication technology paired with Oxycom’s Intrcooll Plus evaporative cooling systems.

The installation of 20 adiabatic cooling units marked a major leap forward in worker comfort and energy efficiency, reducing energy consumption by up to 90% compared to gas-based systems. However, the real game-changer came with the implementation of LumenRadio’s W-Modbus solution. This wireless integration enabled a seamless connection the monitoring software and the cooling units – without the need for complex and costly electrical cabling.
