The W-BACnet solution eliminates the need to run control cables for BACnet MS/TP installations significantly reducing time-consuming cable installations, installation planning, troubleshooting, and daisy-chaining.

With the PRO version of W-BACnet, up to four BACnet MS/TP devices can be connected to one W-BACnet PRO Node - making it even easier to connect multiple devices located in close proximity to each other.

W-BACnet utilizes a wireless mesh network in order to transmit the BACnet frames to the right destination. One of the greatest benefits is that the standard of BACnet MS/TP is kept, meaning all BACnet MS/TP devices can be used together with W-BACnet.

A W-BACnet unit can be configured either as a Gateway that is connected to the BACnet Client (BACnet Master), or a Node that is connected to the BACnet Server (BACnet Slave). A W-BACnet network can consist of up to 100 Nodes, meaning up to 400 BACnet MS/TP devices can be wirelessly connected. The W-BACnet PRO enables the possibility to connect clusters of BACnet MS/TP devices to one Node, meaning that cost-efficiency can be improved by combining traditional in-room cabling (shorter cable runs) with a wireless link eliminating the longer cable runs.

The W-BACnet product is built upon LumenRadio’s MiraOS and MiraMesh, consisting of several patented features enabling extremely reliable radio communication, fast installation, and extended range. MiraOS is used in a vast number of installations around the world for building automation, HVAC control, lighting control and industrial sensor networks. W-BACnet utilizes the international license free ISM band at 2.4GHz.

SYSTEM OVERVIEW

A W-BACnet network consists of a single W-BACnet Gateway with up to 100 W-BACnet Nodes.

The W-BACnet PRO nodes can be connected to one to four Bacnet MS/ TP devices over a BACnet MS/TP cable compared to a normal W-BACnet node that can connect to one MS/TP device over BACnet MS/TP cable.

FAQ

The device is an “end device with internal terminal resistors”. Can this termination be switch off?

No it can not. Typical usage of the product is that the product is end of line.
